Our Mission: Creating Caring Communities

Missions & Outreach
Epworth’s mission projects  involve many outreach activities:
  • Monthly meals served at Safe Harbor, a local homeless shelter
  • Food gathered for Northeast Ministries.
  • Soda can tops for Ronald McDonald house.
  • Clothes, toys and books are sent to Tree of Life and Red Bird Mission & Clinic.

Read more details about these activities below.

Every Sunday is Northeast Ministry Food Sunday! Please bring non-perishable food items and toys to church and place them in the baskets in the narthex.

CAN$ FOR CA$H

Please remember to bring your aluminum cans along to church and place them in the green recycle container located located inside the doors of fellowship hall.
If you come out for the Wednesday night dinners, bring them in at that time. -- just don't throw them away! The money received from this recycling benefits our general fund. In addition, remove aluminum table from the cans and place them in the large containers in the church library. Containers are located on the book shelf against the far wall to the left of the door. This enables our Epworth family to reach out to others in need as these tabs are delivered. to the Ronald McDonald House. Thank you for your faithfulness to these projects.

Remember Matthew 25:35-36, 40 (NIV)

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. ..."'The King will reply, `I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me. "

Globally, the connectionalism of the United Methodist Church includes Mission work around the world, whether it be a new university in Africa or bicycles for Cuban pastors, is the work of “the connection,” which supplements the work of the local congregation.

The loving Christian family members of Epworth fill mission boxes with clothing and ship them to those in need at Red Bird Mission & Clinic, in the Appalachian Mountains.

Red Bird Mission strives to meet the needs of people through ministry in five areas:  Education, Health and Wellness, Community Outreach, Economic Opportunity, and Community Housing Improvement. Box Tops and Labels are also brought to the church and saved and redeemed to support educational activities at Red Bird Mission.

The Epworth Family is a caring, giving family of believers.

Can$ for Ca$h
We're always collecting aluminum cans, so the next time you pop the top of a cool beverage, save both the can and the top. Don't forget to save the top of some soup and vegetable cans too. The tops can be placed in the jars for  Ronald McDonald House, found in the church library. The cans may be placed in the large trash can at the rear of the Fellowship Hall.

Mission Box Packing
There will be one more packing for this year. This final packing will probably be on November 17th, or December 1st.
